We started in 1955 as a little carpet store in Dubuque Iowa and grew steadily over the next few decades to become one of the largest full-service floor covering operations in the state. Capable of handling any size commercial or residential project, we had a full staff of in-house designers and seamstresses for a complete customized service. In the early 1990’s Jeff moved to Wisconsin to take over the interiors for a large project. Business grew steadily Throughout the 1990’s and by the beginning of the early 2000’s it was rather clear that most of the products they were producing was hardwood flooring. We slowly began buying truckloads of flooring, and then truckloads of lumber that we dried, and sent them somewhere to be milled to spec. This led us to ultimately owning an operating our own kilns capable of drying 85,000 board feet and milling it to spec. During the great economic downturn of the 2000’s, we decided to purchase a roll coding machine for custom pre-finished flooring. This was obvious as our experience in the industry guided us towards working with more iron custom customers. In the last decade, we focus primarily on finishing and no longer the manufacturing of our own flooring. We are now partnered up with a German manufacture producing products in Indonesia and importing them by the container. With well over 2,000,000 square feet of finished and installed products out in the wild, there are no finish complaints and no structural issues.
