Euro Cut
This method of cutting goes through the entire log and yields about 33% of each Plain Sawn (green), Rift Sawn (yellow), and Quarter Sawn (red). This method yields wider boards and uses the entire tree. We offer this cutting technique for White Oak, Red Oak, and Hickory. |
FRENCH CUT
Our newest saw cut. Each board by this method has a mix of the different grains (plain sawn - green, rift sawn - yellow, and quarter sawn - red). We are able to do this by cutting the log the same way as live sawn, except by removing the first and last few cuts (which are all plain sawn). The one grain boards are eliminated leaving only uniquely mixed boards behind.

Center Cut
This saw technique keeps the pith (center of the tree) prominate on every board. Similar to Euro and French Cut, this method cuts through the entire log. The boards are tehn cut down to the correct width by cutting from the outside, instead of just sutting them in half. This leaved the center boards with the pith and the outer boards are then sorted into other grades. |
